What is a Dietitian?

From British Dietetic Association:

"Dietitians are the only nutrition professionals to be regulated by law, and are governed by an ethical code to ensure that they always work to the highest standard."

There are many people claiming to be health or nutrition experts, without the relevant qualifications. It can be confusing to decide who the right professional for you is.

By choosing to work with a dietitian, you can be assured that they are suitably qualified and work to meet the high standards of proficiency set by the Health and Care Professions Council and British Dietetic Association. Dietitians can work with sick and healthy people to treat diseases & conditions related to diet and nutrition, and improve health.

Many dietitians work in the NHS or in private practice. Other areas that dietitians may work in include the food industry, catering, education, sport, the media, and in public health relations.
